Abundance: The Glass Half Full
Abundance is the second element of the Compass Star PATH (which stands for Passion, Abundance, Time and Health). It is the more traditional view of wealth representing actual money and material abundance.
A key facilitator of increasing abundance into your life is whether you view the world through the lens of scarcity or plenty, I explain this in detail in my book. Imagine if you have an unexpected bill come in, and you have to take that money from your savings. You can begrudge the universe for sending that extra bill (scarcity mind-set) or be thankful you had set money aside for times like this (plenty mind-set).
Looking at the glass as ‘half empty’ brings feelings of scarcity, as you are looking at what is missing, or what has been lost. If you are of the scarcity mind-set, you will be in a hyper competitive state with others, as there is only so much abundance to go around. Whether it is job promotions, homes, material items, or relationships, you will see them as scarce and thus hard to come by.
Alternatively, if you look at this same glass as ‘half full,’ then you are looking at what you have; your current abundance, and future potential. It is more than being grateful: if you have a plenty mind-set, you will be more resilient and creative when finding opportunities to build wealth.
Both the scarcity and plenty perspectives can be true, as with the glass that is ‘half empty’ or ‘half full.’ It is equally both.
Which glass do you choose?

Financial Fasting
What happens when you stop spending, even for a short time? In a world designed to encourage constant consumption, what might you discover by temporarily stepping away from it? Like a traditional fast, a financial fast can provide a powerful reset. It offers more than just savings. It provides an opportunity to break habitual spending patterns, strengthen gratitude for what you already have, and reconnect with what truly adds value to your life without reaching for your wallet. Periodic and voluntary “no-spend” days can provide remarkable clarity about how much you already have. Sometimes the greatest abundance comes not from acquiring more, but from appreciating more.
Money Magic
What makes finance people so sensitive to small monthly expenses? A £100 monthly expense doesn’t look like much. But to a finance professional, it may look like £16,000, £57,000, or even more. The £100 Troll: Escaping Scarcity Consciousness One Outing at a Time
When every outing seems to cost £100, it’s easy to retreat into scarcity and stop living life to protect your wallet. Like the Billy Goats Gruff, we all face trolls in the form of rising costs, impulse spending, financial uncertainty, and social expectations whenever we try to cross the proverbial bridge. The troll’s greatest trick is convincing you to stay on the scarcity side because you can’t afford to reach abundance. But here’s the thing: abundance begins the moment you decide to cross. Discover how intentional planning, simple pleasures, and purposeful choices can help you cross into abundance without sacrificing your joy. The troll isn’t the cost of crossing the bridge. The real troll is believing you can’t afford to.
What is Luxury? A PATH to True Wealth
What if luxury isn’t something you buy, but something you experience? Society often defines luxury through price tags, status, and exclusivity. Yet some of life’s most meaningful luxuries have no receipt: a full night’s sleep, time with loved ones, vibrant health, or the freedom to pursue what excites you. Discover how the Compass Star PATH system redefines luxury beyond material possessions and explores how passion, abundance, time, and health can become some of life’s most valuable indulgences. Luxury isn’t one-size-fits-all, and the finest luxuries are often the ones that enrich your life rather than your image.
