Dr. Cora Pettipas Ph.D. FCSI CFP is currently the Global Senior Manager, Financial Planning with HSBC Wealth and Private Banking (WPB) where she leads strategy and implementation retirement proposition and digital advice & fintech tools globally.
She is a highly accomplished Executive, Thought Leader, and Entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in the areas of financial services, technology, communication, business development, and wealth management. She was recognized by national awards for her efforts related to financial innovation in Canada, and also awarded Employee of the Year Globally at HSBC.
Cora has served on the Directors of NEMA (the National Exempt Market Association), has represented Canada for the Financial Planners Standards Board, and on the Registrant Advisory Committee of the OSC. She has published and presented her work internationally. She is Canadian and currently resides in London, England with her husband and daughter.
Cora completed her Doctorate of Finance in 2017 from SMC University, Switzerland, with a 4.0 GPA, successfully presenting her dissertation on ‘Fintech Applications to Financial Planning Internationally’. She also obtained her Masters Degree in Finance & Controlling from SMC University, Switzerland in 2011 with a 3.8 GPA.
Dr. Pettipas also holds a number industry designations including FCSI (Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute – the highest honour in Canadian financial services), CFP (Certified Financial Planner – the most widely recognized financial planning designation in Canada and throughout the world), and was a previous holder of the FMA designation (Financial Management Advisor from the Canadian Securities Institute), CSA (Certified Senior Advisor – the leading certification for professionals serving older adults) and CIM (Canadian Investment Manager) and has won multiple awards throughout her career for her excellence and expertise.
Cora was awarded the James McGill Entrance Scholarship to attend Canada’s most prestigious University in 1997. She graduated from McGill University in 2001 with a B.Sc Psychology.
She is an Advisory Board Member for the University of Greenwich, and held previous positions as a Board Member with the Academy of Financial Services (AFS), as well as NEMA.
